Welcome to West Suburban School Counselor Association.
The West Suburban School Counselor Association (WSSCA) offers counselors the opportunity to share ideas and experiences that will impact students and their academic, career and social/emotional development.
BECOME A MEMBER
Our doors are open to anyone interested in joining our growing community of school counseling professionals. As a West Suburban School Counselor Association member, you’ll have exposure to a vibrant network along with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our community is tight-knit, but incredibly welcoming. Join us below!
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Professional membership in the Association shall be open to those who are certified or approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education as school counselors, school adjustment counselors, independent counselors or counseling directors and (1) who are currently employed as school counselors, school adjustment counselors, independent counselors or counseling directors in schools in Massachusetts; or (2) who are currently teaching in a full-time capacity in a Master’s level counselor education and college counseling program. Counselors holding Professional Membership in the Association will be eligible to vote, hold office, and/or serve on the Governing Board and/or Executive Committee of the Association.
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Student membership in this Association shall be open to those who are enrolled in a degree program leading to certification in school counseling and recommended for membership by a school official.
RETIREE MEMBERSHIP
Retired members of the Massachusetts School Counselors Association who have reached the age of 55 and are retired shall be eligible for retired membership status.
ASSOCIATE/AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
Counselors who are not certified nor approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education as school counselors, school adjustment counselors, or counseling directors, but who are employed in a full-time capacity in counselor education programs, including School to Career programs at public or private K-12 institutions.
PAY-AS-YOU-GO MEMBERSHIP
This membership includes a base membership fee: $10
To attend each event and have the provided meal at the event you must RSVP in advance and pay $5 per event you RSVP to.
